byzantium, volume seventeen
byzantium is a literary annual for cal poly’s english department. for nearly two decades, it has been a publication that has featured the writings of many award winning student poets and short story fiction writers. i was responsible for creating a unique theme and book design that captured the essence of the english department’s annual tradition.

cal poly athletic department
from printed media guides, sports cards, to stadium banners, i helped position cal poly’s athletic department to have one of their strongest visual identities with my 2005-2007 program designs. i was the lead designer responsible for the majority of their print media.
sah-kee
sah-kee is a bold new american style rice wine. the brand’s name comes from the phonetic spelling of the japanesse word, sake. while respecting japaneese culture and aesthetics, i created the identity, designed the holiday packaging, and developed a marketing campaign that blended the energy and style of the two worlds.
italy
a poster series chronicling my personal experiences in italy’s ‘invisible cities’. each poster represents the beauty and rushed journey through italy’s art, architecture, tourism, and culture. the distress is a play on the fallibility of memory, achieved through mixed media and various experimental techniques.

mission baring
created for a private investor, mission baring’s label captures the youth, sophistication, and interests of the retired hand surgeon. i was responsible for the logo design as well as the label’s labrinth illustration consisting of a hand, hurricane, nautilus, and mission.
legibility
a small and compact reference book of typographic rules detailing typography terms and styles. i designed the book cover, page layout and theme of this handy little guide book.

generation salsa
finally a salsa done right! this small family production focuses on quality, tradition and authenticity. i’m responsible for their logo and package design giving them a unique and memorable appearance on any shelf.
